Privacy Policy

JawiFit is a private coaching studio in Mountain View, California, run by Jade and Yun. This policy covers jawifit.com, the JawiFit and JawiFit Coach apps, and the coach web app at app.jawifit.com. Questions go to hello@jawifit.com.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name, email address and the language you choose. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google or Apple; there are no passwords. If you continue with Google, Google tells us only your email address, which we use to find your existing account. If you sign in with Apple, Apple tells us an ID for your Apple account and your email address, which we use to find your existing account; if you choose Hide My Email, we get an address that forwards to you instead, and you sign in with a code.
- Your photo, if you add one. We keep a small square copy with the location, camera and time details removed.
- Your training. Your answers to the pre-training questionnaire (goals, how often you train, your background, injuries and anything your coaches should be careful about), your assessment, plans, workout records, notes and schedule.
- Messages between you and your coaches, including photos, PDF files and videos of your exercises that you send, and whether they have been read. Before a photo is sent, the app makes a smaller copy and removes its location, camera and time details. Only you and the coach you send a video to can watch it.
- Apple Health, only if you turn it on in the JawiFit app. We read your weight, your daily step count, the calories and protein your food apps record each day, and the workouts other apps and your watch record (their type, time and distance), and save the weigh-ins and workouts you log in JawiFit to Apple Health. You choose what JawiFit may read and save in Apple Health, and you can turn it off in the app at any time. If you delete your account, the calories, protein and workouts from Apple Health are removed along with your steps.
- Problem reports. If you report a problem in the apps or on app.jawifit.com, we receive what you write, any screenshots you add, and the app and its version, the page you were on, and your device model and system version. Before a screenshot is sent, we make a smaller copy and remove its location, camera and time details. Only JawiFit's coaches read problem reports, to fix what went wrong.
- Technical details. The name of each device you sign in on, when you last used it, the IP addresses we use to limit repeated sign-in attempts, and, if you allow notifications, the address Apple gives your phone for them. Our hosting providers keep standard request logs.
- Email to us. If you write to us, we receive your message and email address.
The apps keep a copy of your training, and of the exercise videos in your plan, on your phone so they work without a connection. jawifit.com uses no cookies, analytics or advertising; if you pick Light or Dark appearance, that choice stays in your browser. app.jawifit.com uses one cookie to keep you signed in, a second one for up to ten minutes while you sign in with Google, and remembers your language in your browser.
How we use it
- To coach you: to plan and record your training, keep your schedule, and let you and your coaches message each other.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To email you sign-in codes and messages about your account and coaching, and, if you allow it, to notify you of new messages and of the days you train.
Information from Apple Health is used only for your coaching. It is never used for advertising or marketing, and it is not shared with anyone except the companies that run the service for us.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites. Because we do not track you, we do not change anything when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Who can see it
- Your coaches at JawiFit. Some of their notes about your training are for coaches only.
- Companies that run the service for us, only to provide it: Google Cloud (app servers, database and file storage), Google Workspace (sending email), Cloudflare (this website) and Apple (delivering the apps and notifications, and Sign in with Apple).
- Others when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Your information is stored in the United States, in Google Cloud's Oregon region. It is encrypted on the way to and from our servers and while stored.
We keep it while you train with us. When coaching ends, your records stay so you and your coaches can look back. If you delete your account, your coaches can still see your training records, messages (including photos, files and videos you sent) and answers; your problem reports and their screenshots are deleted. Either way, we delete them if you ask. We keep up to 1 GB of the videos each client sends; when a new one needs room, the oldest are removed. Copies in database backups are removed as those backups expire, deleted photos and files within 7 days, and deleted videos within 30 days.
Your choices
You can see and change most of your information in the app. You can delete your account in the JawiFit app, under Settings: you are signed out on every device, your photo and your steps from Apple Health are removed, your email address is no longer tied to the account, and if you signed in with Apple, we tell Apple that JawiFit no longer uses your Apple account. You can turn notifications off in the app's settings or in your iPhone's Settings. To get a copy, correct something, or delete your records too, email hello@jawifit.com. We reply within 30 days. We may keep what the law requires us to keep.
Children and teens
A parent or guardian arranges youth coaching. We create an app account for a child under 13 only with a parent or guardian's consent. A parent or guardian can ask to see or delete their child's information at hello@jawifit.com.
Security
Sign-in codes and sign-in tokens are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, and each person sees only what their role allows. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top. If a change matters to how your information is used, we will also tell you in the app or by email.
